Shooting up the people on your side.

November 6, 2009

I wonder to myself weather that actions of Maj. Nidal Malik were not so much a retaliation of going to overseas but a terrorist act?  All of the comments made prior about the upstanding and agreeing to other acts of war and terrorism make me think.  All of our hearts, here at AALM, go out to the families and friends that had to suffer a lose to any degree.

Those that are upset and angry.  That was his personal choice and do not hold other people responsible.  It’s not fair.

”Such violence is morally reprehensible and has nothing to do with any religion, race, ethnicity or national origin,” said Mary Rose Oakar, president of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee. A Little Trick to whiter teeth

November 2, 2009

I have tried using Hydrogen Peroxide (about 2 tablespoons) and Baking soda (about 3 tablespoons)  and mixing  them together. I add a little toothpaste for taste.  I basically just add it to my toothbrush and apply to my teeth. Leave it on for about 2-3 minutes and then brush like usually.  After a few days the difference is amazing

*On this date in 1983, the legislative bill establishing Martin Luther King Day as a national holiday was signed.

The official holiday, on the third Monday of January, began in 1986. It was the first new American holiday since 1948, when Memorial Day was created as a “prayer for peace” day. Also it was only the second national holiday in the twentieth century (the other was Veterans Day, created as Armistice Day in 1926 to honor those who died in World War I). King is the only American besides George Washington to have a national holiday designated for his birthday (those of Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, Robert E. Lee and others are celebrated in some states but not nationwide).

Clifford Brown

On this date Clifford Brown, an African-American jazz trumpeter, was born in 1930.

Born in Wilmington, DE, Brown attended Delaware State College and Maryland State College. He played in Philadelphia before joining, first, Tadd Dameron’s band in Atlantic City, NJ, then Lionel Hampton’s big band for a European tour, both in 1953. He then played with leading West Coast musicians and the Art Blakey quintet. In 1954, he and drummer Max Roach formed the Brown-Roach quintet, which quickly became one of the outstanding postwar jazz units. http://www.aaregistry.com/detail.php?id=1261  Check out his story!
